Pearl (PRL) is the native coin of the Pearl layer 1, a Bitcoin-style chain that is mined with AI matrix math instead of hashing. It is not listed on the big exchanges yet, so buying it takes a little more care than buying Bitcoin. This guide covers the two routes that work today and how to end up with PRL in a wallet you control.

Option 1: buy PRL in the Oyster wallet
Oyster is a self-custody Pearl wallet for Chrome and your phone. Its Trade screen shows the live PRL/USDT order book from SafeTrade, where most PRL volume trades, and lets you buy with USDT without opening an exchange account.
1. Set up Oyster
Add Oyster to Chrome from the Chrome Web Store, or open the web app on your phone. Create a wallet and write down your 12-word seed phrase. The wallet setup guide walks through it.
2. Add buying power (USDT)
- Open Buying power and pick a chain: Solana, Arbitrum or BNB Chain.
- Save the address you will send from. Use a wallet you control, such as Phantom or MetaMask. Withdrawals straight from an exchange often cannot be matched to you.
- Send the exact amount Oyster shows for your first deposit. That proves the address is yours. After that, any amount works.
3. Place your order
- At market fills right away at the best prices in the book. Oyster lets you set the worst price you will accept (1% away by default) and refuses a fill past it.
- At my price places a limit order that waits for the market to reach your price.
The minimum order is 2 PRL. The review screen shows the average price, fees and exactly what you receive.
4. Send it to your wallet
When the order fills, choose Send to my wallet and the PRL is paid to your Pearl address a few minutes later. Or choose Keep on exchange if you plan to sell again soon, and move it whenever you like.
Option 2: buy PRL on an exchange
PRL trades against USDT on SafeTrade (the largest market), BigONE and CoinEx.
- Open an account and complete the exchange’s verification.
- Deposit USDT on a network the exchange supports.
- Open the PRL/USDT market and place a market or limit order.
- Withdraw the PRL to your own wallet. In Oyster, tap Receive and copy your address, which starts with
prl1p. Paste it into the exchange’s withdrawal form with Pearl as the network.
Leaving coins on an exchange means trusting it to give them back. Withdrawing to a wallet only you control removes that risk.
After you buy
- Keep your seed phrase offline, on paper. Anyone who has it can take your PRL.
- Only send native PRL on the Pearl network to a
prl1address. Wrapped PRL (wPRL) on Ethereum is a different asset. - Ready to take profit? Read how to sell PRL for USDT.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest way to buy Pearl (PRL)?
PRL/USDT on SafeTrade has the deepest order book, so buying against it usually gives the best price. You can reach that book directly on SafeTrade, or from the Trade screen in Oyster, which charges a 1.25% fee on top of the exchange price but saves you opening and verifying an exchange account.
Can I buy PRL with a credit card?
Not directly today. Buy USDT first (most major exchanges and wallets sell it by card), then use that USDT to buy PRL in Oyster or on an exchange.
What is the minimum amount of PRL I can buy?
In Oyster the minimum order is 2 PRL. Exchanges set their own minimums, usually a few USDT.
Is the PRL on Coinbase or Bitget the same Pearl?
Usually not. Perle is a different Solana token that also uses the PRL ticker, and several tokens named Pearl Research on Base are unrelated to the Pearl layer 1. Native Pearl lives on its own chain and its addresses start with prl1.
